The East Shore is famous for its thriving artisan community. Visit the working studio galleries of the Crawford Bay Artisans, where art comes to life before your very eyes. Weavers, glass blowers, ironsmiths, potters, jewelers, even the magical brooms from the Harry Potter films were made here in Crawford Bay by North Woven Brooms...

The East Shore is home to the Star Belly Jam Music Festival. Enjoy great summer fun for the whole family. Fabulous global music, amazing food, craft vendors and a whole lot of dancing under the stars. Usually hosted the 3rd weekend in July, but check the website for dates and program information.

If golfing is your pleasure, Kootenay Springs Golf Course, voted one of the top ten in North America is not to be missed. Beautifully located and maintained, this is a golfing paradise with in-house pro’s, lessons, and beautiful greens surrounded by the glorious Selkirk Mountains.

There is a spiritual and healing energy that is very tangible here on The East Shore of Kootenay Lake. These shores were sacred ground for many native ceremonies through the ages. Enjoy informative guided boat tours through the Guiding Hands Society/Tipi Camp. Still found, are ancient rock paintings along Kootenay lake and, in some areas, granite formations over 600 million years old, which are some of the oldest granite formations on our planet.
